Pretzel with butter and cheese

Sounds so simple yet it’s soooo good! This is the way many Germans love to enjoy a snack, whether in the morning or for lunch. It’s makes a great school snack for kids, especially with the mini pretzels.

Preparation:

The pretzel should be fully cooled

Cut pretzel open, including the arms if possible, and generously spread unsalted butter

It’s important to use high-quality butter with at least 82% butterfat (because it tastes better), such as products from Organic Valley, Vital Farms, or Vermont Creamery. These are often more affordable than imported brands like Kerrygold.

Add cheese: I love thinly sliced Swiss Cheese
