Pretzel with butter / “Butterbreze”
Sounds so simple yet it’s soooo good! This is the way many Germans love to enjoy a snack, whether in the morning or for lunch. It’s makes a great school snack for kids, especially with the mini pretzels.
Preparation:
The pretzel should be fully cooled
Cut pretzel open, including the arms if possible, and generously spread unsalted butter
It’s important to use high-quality butter with at least 82% butterfat (because it tastes better), such as products from Organic Valley, Vital Farms, or Vermont Creamery. These are often more affordable than imported brands like Kerrygold
Pretzel with butter and chives
chop about 5 stems of chives and sprinkle on top of butter
